Controls and Counter Measures. ( 4 hrs )
How to neutralize, control arrest and transport a suspect without harm.

A. Individual take-downs come along and controls.
Methods designed for a single individual to control and subdue a violent suspect.
a. Locking techniques, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder.
b. Safe effective throws, takedowns and projections.
B. Group tactical controls.
Methods for two or more officers to control a single or multiple suspects in close quarter areas.
a. For a single assailant.
b. For two or more assailants.
Written and physical evaluation will be given to each student at completion of course to determine level of competency. No refunds will be given for failure to satisfactorily complete any or all phases of the training.

The series of three Tracts totals ( 12 hrs )
These PKC programs give the officer practical, simple, effective methods of combating single or multiple assailants armed with clubs, edge weapons or firearms. Note it is assumed that each individual has successfully completed the PKC HAND TO HAND BASIC TRACT before entering these programs. Departments can select or omit any Tract in this section that is not appropriate for their needs.

Unarmed against the club ( 4 hrs )
These PKC programs give the officer a effective methods of combating single or multiple assailants armed with a club, stick, and tire iron or other blunt instruments.

a. Short weapons; nightsticks, tire irons etc.
b. Medium weapons; walking canes, umbrellas etc.
c. Long weapons; garden tools, rakes, martial arts staves etc.

Unarmed against Edge Weapons ( 4 hrs )
An advanced course in practical methods for survival and defense against a knife-wielding assailant. This program makes use of distance, timing and improvisational weapons for real world solutions. Includes bare hand tactics and improvisational weapons like clothing, chairs, belts, sticks etc.
a. Short weapons; folding knives, shanks, ice picks, broken bottles etc.
b. Medium weapons; hunting knives, bowie knives etc.
c. Long weapons; garden tools, machete, swords, military bayonets etc.
